Fabulous! Unfortunate that the other one got shut down. I have one, relating to my current situation: How many of you don't think you were right about your theriotype the first time around? (If that makes any sense)

Well, I was born awake and had to teach myself to think "human" so it was kind of a given. Because I just knew what I was from birth when i first looked in the mirror and saw myself I really didn't understand the concept (I was about two) But I was on the otherside of the window from my dog.. and i saw more of myself in her. It was very very strange. Hard to explain.

That is really cool. I remember feeling more like my dog, and feeling more connected to her than to my parents, but.... I think I sort of stayed in between 'human' feeling and 'animal' feeling up until third grade, when that abruptly ended. I dunno, it just seems like I was somehow 'wise' before then. And then I had a negative experience with a person which ruined my whole worldview. Incidentally, I don't remember 'talking' to any of my animal and tree friends after that experience. But that's a long and complicated story, not all related to therianthropy. I just meant to say that I had a close relationship with my dog as well.

I've always just been a 'cat'. When I was little, I actually thought it was intensely boring that I was just a housecat and nothing else. I used to wish I could be something else, like a dragon or something.
I never thought I could be anything but a cat--always felt like a cat--so I can't say I was ever really wrong.

no refunds for lost sanity by reading the post above
Although I originally thought I was a gryphon, for about three or four months I went through a period where I doubted myself severely and thought I was a badger. This turned out to be simply a very strong connection with Badger as she asserted herself as one of my totems. I am again a gryphon, and wiser for the experience.
All right, come on, kids. Help me out. I feel like I've taken over this forum. xD But I do have another one that should spark some interest, I think. How is it possible to be christian AND therian? I mean, I know that therianthropy is not a religion, but hey, 'God' doesn't make mistakes, right? Secondly, many christians believe that animals don't have souls. How does all that work? I'm not trying to start a fight, I've just always been curious. Go.

Well considering I'm one of the few and the proud out there that is Christian and Therian, I will tell you my take on it. You have a spirit and a soul. Let's start here. Animals do not have a soul they have only a spirit. Do not pity them for this, I envy them. The soul is what makes you human.. we have free will, we act on our brain and hardly instinct, we carry grudges and harbor the need for revenge. Animals... don't do these things. They have spirit, the thing that gives you only the will to live, the will to reproduce, the will to survive! Now... when you die, as a human, saying that God gave you both your spirit and your soul.. but the soul is special it goes back to God to be judged (heaven or hell) the spirit however, animals spirits never die thats why they don't need a heaven, their spirits move on as ours do to another living thing sometimes the life before that the spirit has left carries more strength the older it becomes the more souls lives it has been a kin too. The older your spirit is the wiser you are. Thus, being a therian.. those who are anyways. Their spirit is strong to the point where it makes itself so pronounced that the soul and human that has both can sense it for example, myself or my fellow therians. This is what I believe I stick true to my word and my beliefs and nothing can steer me otherwise. A note on this ever so sensitive subject: If this gets out of hand and you all start getting nasty, I will remove it.

All right. That's an interesting take on it. Can't say I fully agree, as I believe that humans and animals are equal in every way, but I do respect your belief. I feel enlightened. xD Thanks for telling me your belief.
